But Annick Lestrohan and Bernard Colombani's modern, urban home equity rates in central Marseilles has the perfect antidote: an internal fine gardening oasis. 'We wanted a green area that wasn't just next to the house, but part of it,' explains Bernard, an engineer with a passion for architecture.
The couple started their gruelling, nine-month renovation project on the echoing space with a clear aim. 'We wanted to use industrial material engineering, like polished-concrete flooring and metal-framed windows, as a nod to the industrial history of our home equity rates,' says Annick, for whom the factory had special significance, as her father was a printer. Because of this, they chose to keep the original lettering displaying the company's name on the exterior. Now guests, too, can enjoy the tranquility of this home equity rates. 'The downside is that you can't skinny dip in the pool,' says Annick, whose local interiors boutique, Honoré, sells chic French pieces and north African artefacts. 'The upside is that I can test new design ideas on our guests.
